On April 19, the Memorandum of Agreement between the university and CUPE 116 concerning Residence Student Staff was ratified by all parties and is in full effect.
The agreement reached falls within the Provincial Government’s 2019 Sustainable Services Negotiating Mandate that covered April 1, 2019, through March 31, 2022.
Approximately 260 Residence Student Staff in Residence Advisors, Senior Residence Advisors, and Programme Resource Centre Advisor roles are now represented by CUPE 116. CUPE 116 also represents approximately 2,050 trades, food and custodial staff, parking attendants, engineering technicians, research assistants, campus security patrol, and a few clerical/secretarial positions at the Vancouver campus.
