Extended Health Claims Deadline
Any outstanding extended health claims with service dates between January 1 to December 31, 2019, must be received by Sun Life no later than December 31, 2020 for consideration for reimbursement. To learn how to submit claims, please visit the Making a claim page.
Dental Claims Deadline
To be considered for reimbursement, dental claims must be received by Sun Life no later than one year from the date of service. For example, a dental claim incurred on November 18, 2019 must be received by Sun Life no later than November 18, 2020. To learn how to submit claims, please visit the Making a claim page.
Health Spending Account Claims Deadline
(Management & Professional, IUOE 115 members, CUPE 116 and CUPE 2950 members only)
Any unpaid Extended Health and/or Dental Care claims dated between January 1 to December 31, 2020 that you would like reimbursed from your Health Spending Account (HSA) must be received by Sun Life no later than 90 days after December 31, 2020 (March 31, 2021). After March 31, 2021, any 2020 claims for Extended Health and/or Dental will no longer be eligible for submission. Please note that the deadline for submitting HSA claims is different from the deadline for submitting claims under the Extended Health plan for reimbursement.
Your HSA can provide reimbursement for benefit expenses not covered by Extended Health and Dental care plans. You must apply for any unpaid expenses towards your HSA credits by submitting an Extended Health claim form or online via the Sun Life Plan Member website or through the Sun Life Mobile App.
