This message was sent to faculty, librarians and program directors on Monday, May 10.
We wish to inform you of the upcoming expiry date for Faculty Professional Development (PD) Reimbursement Funds that accrued in the 2016/17 academic year. Any unused funds from 2016/17 will expire at the end of the current PD funding year, June 30. Please note the submission deadlines below.
Deadlines
To allow for the required workflow approvals within Workday before June 30, please submit your PD Fund claims in Workday as soon as possible.
To ensure expiring 2016/17 funds are used, submit your claim(s) by Friday, June 11, 2021. This should allow time for your Department Head (or equivalent), to review and approve your claim in Workday by Tuesday June 22, 2021.
Any claims submitted after this deadline will be reimbursed through the next available balance (e.g. PD Fund years after 2016/17).
Please note, claims must be within 12 months of the expense purchase date.
How to check if you have expiring funds
In Workday, you can view your total eligible amount, amount used, amount requested (claims in queue to be processed), and amount remaining; however, your unused funds from the 2016/17 year are not automatically calculated.
If you would like to request your 2016/17 PD Funds balance, please submit a ticket through the Integrated Service Centre (ISC). Include/select the following in your ticket:
- Select the general area issue is related to: Workday (Finance/HR/Payroll)
- Urgency: High
- Short title for your issue: Faculty PD Fund Expiring Balance Request 2016/17
- In the detailed description:
- A brief message of your request details
- Employee name
- Employee ID (first 4 digits only, sample: 1234XXX)
- Department
Human Resources will calculate this information for you. Please note, as this information is calculated upon request, it will take a few business days before you receive your expiring funds balance.
