In November 2020, Mary Ellen Turpel-Lafond (Aki-Kwe) released the report In Plain Sight: Addressing Indigenous-specific Racism and Discrimination in BC Healthcare, presenting clear evidence of systemic, anti-Indigenous racism in BC’s Healthcare system.
Bringing together unique perspectives by scholars, policy-makers, and other leaders, the Decolonizing Wellness: Indigenous Women’s Perspectives on Healthcare virtual event on Tuesday, November 30, will continue to explore the report’s findings, take stock of where we are now and explore possible solutions.
This event is free and open to all but will be of particular interest to Indigenous women in leadership roles.
