CUPE 2278 Bargaining Update
CUPE 2278 and UBC continue to meet with very positive and collaborative discussions toward renewing the collective agreement. Further dates will be scheduled in May.

CUPE 116 Aquatic Centre Ratified
We are pleased to share that the three-year collective agreement between the University Aquatic Centre and CUPE 116 has been ratified by all parties and is now in full effect. This agreement covers the period January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2025.
CUPE 116 (Aquatic) represents approximately 100 part-time lifeguards/instructors, shift supervisors and head guards at the UBC Aquatic Centre.
We wish to congratulate and thank the bargaining teams for their hard work, patience and commitment to reaching an agreement through negotiations.

CUPE 2278 Bargaining Update
Bargaining is underway between CUPE 2278 and the University. The parties met on March 14 and March 28 and the discussions were positive. The parties are continuing to work through issues. Additional dates are scheduled for April.

BCGEU Child Care Tentative Agreement
We are pleased to share that the University Child Care Services and BCGEU reached a tentative agreement on March 25, 2023. This agreement covers the period May 1, 2022 to April 30, 2025. It is the fourth agreement reached between UBC and one of its bargaining agents in this round of negotiations.
Wage increases under this agreement are consistent with the BC Government’s 2022 Shared Recovery Mandate. The renewed agreement also reflects the mutual interests of both the Union and the University in our many strategic plans and operational initiatives. These details, along with other elements and improvements, will be communicated once the agreement is ratified by both parties.
BCGEU (Child Care) represents approximately 220 child care employees at the Vancouver Campus.

CUPE 2950 Tentative Agreement
We are pleased to share that the University and CUPE 2950 have reached a tentative agreement. This agreement covers the period April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2025. It is the third agreement reached between UBC and one of its bargaining agents in this round of negotiations.
Wage increases under this agreement are consistent with the BC Government’s 2022 Shared Recovery Mandate. The renewed agreement also reflects the mutual interests of both the Union and the University in our many strategic plans and operational initiatives. These details, along with other elements and improvements will be communicated once the agreement is ratified by both parties.
CUPE 2950 represents approximately 1,700 clerical and secretarial staff and library assistants and Chan Centre front-of-house and back-of-house staff who work at multiple sites associated with the Vancouver campus.

AAPS Bargaining Update
AAPS and the University met on February 22 to start bargaining and exchanged opening proposals. The discussions were constructive, and the parties will continue to bargain over the next several weeks.

BCGEU Vancouver (Child Care) Bargaining Update
Bargaining started on February 14 and the University and the Union have met several times. Discussions have been productive with multiple issues resolved. Additional dates are scheduled over the next two weeks.

CUPE 2950 Bargaining Update
The University and the Union continue to meet and work through the outstanding issues. Three additional dates are scheduled through to March 9. We remain optimistic to conclude bargaining in the near future.

IUOE 115 Bargaining Update
The Union and University have made substantial progress. We have resolved a large number of items and agreed on improvements to the Collective Agreement. A substantial discussion over a small number of items is underway, and the University has asked for a mediator to assist in those discussions. Bargaining is set to resume with a mediator before the end of March.
